Tuesday, July 9

Vesper Services & Awards Ceremony

7:00 PM - The Vesper Services opening Philipsburg Heritage Days 2013 at the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Vesper Services is presented by the Philipsburg Ministerium and sponsored by Philipsburg Elks Lodge #1173. Music will be provided by the Valley Voices.

Immediately following the Vesper Services, the Philipsburg Heritage Days Community Awards will be presented.

Community Awards are sponsored by Geisinger.

 

Wednesday, July 10

11:00 AM and 2:00 PM - Blast Off with Dr. Planet (Steve Hennesy). This performance was supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of PA, The National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency and CenClear. Location: Reed Hall, Trinity United Methodist Church.

Immediately after Blast Off with Dr. Planet, PNC Bank will sponsor Science Art at the CenClear booths on Front Street.

10:00 AM - 8:00 PM - Children's Activities sponsored by CenClear and and community agencies.

1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM - The PA Friends of Ag Foundation Science Lab will have mini lessons. Sponsored by CenClear. Location: Front Street.

Noon - 8:00 PM - PA Friends of Ag Foundation Science Lab will be open with fun activities for all ages.

1:00 PM - DJ Studios Karate demonstration. Location: Front Street near Philipsburg Towers.

4:00 PM - Youth Musical Arts Society (YMAS). Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

5:30 PM - "Cinderella" songs presentation by Student Youth Theatre of YMCA of Centre County, Moshannon Valley Branch. Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Stage.

6:15 PM - Karaoke Contest 1st round. Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

6:00 PM - Dance Recital by Shaw and Ghaner. Location: Front Street near Philipsburg Towers.

7:00 PM - Watermelon Eating Contest sponsored by Highway Pizza. Registration at 7:00 PM, contest at 7:30 PM. Location: Front Street near Philipsburg Towers.

8:00 PM - Pat Moore and the Elvis Show and the band Still Moore. Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

 

Thursday, July 11

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Lincoln's Generals camp set-up at Cold Stream Dam.

10:00 AM - 8:00 PM - Children's Activities sponsored by CenClear and and community agencies.

3:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Dan Hulse, Civil War Strolling Minstrel. Sponsored by PNC Bank. Location: Front Street.

4:00 PM - Youth Musical Arts Society (YMAS). Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

4:00 PM - Devin Tekely and Friends Acoustic. Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

Saturday, July 13

Second Annual 5K Race for Education:

7:00 AM - 8:00 AM - Registration
8:00 AM - Dual Start Walk/Run

10:00 AM - Noon - Lincoln's Generals - questions and answers at the campsite at Cold Stream Dam.

12:30 PM - 1:45 PM - Lincoln's Generals - questions and answers prior to parade at Judges' Review Stand in front of the Philipsburg Borough Building.

2:00 PM - Grand Parade. Fire company equipment judging will take place at the P-O High School from 10 AM to Noon.

5:00 PM - Karaoke Contest finals. Location: Edward Navasky Memorial Sound Stage.

10:00 PM - Fireworks. Classic rock band "Zoo's Open" will be performing at the Cold Stream Pavilion leading up to the start of fireworks. Fireworks sponsored by Philipsburg Borough. Band entertainment is sponsored by the Navasky Foundation. Harpster of Philipsburg and Crystal Clean Auto Spa will sponsor glow sticks sale and 100% of the proceeds will go to Philipsburg Heritage Days.

 

Sunday, July 14

9:00 AM to 2:30 PM - Car Show.

Around 2:30 PM - Car Raffle benefiting Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation.

3:00 PM - Cowchip Bingo hosted by the Student Youth Theatre, YMCA of Centre County, Moshannon Valley Branch. Location: P-O football field.
